SULO is excited to announce a new manufacturing venture in New Zealand, the youngest country on earth. A partnership between SULO MGB Australia and Talbot Plastics has lead to the creation of SULO Talbot Ltd.
SULO Talbot, located in Manukau City New Zealand, is a new manufacturing facility for a variety of waste and recycling containers including Mobile Garbage Bins (MGBs). SULO Talbot is the only company dedicated to the manufacture of MGBs located in New Zealand.
At 2:08 am on Friday 1 August 2008 SULO Talbot manufactured its very first MGB. After days of trialing and testing the facility is now in full operation and running on a 24 hour 7 day week basis. The new joint venture will kick off with a landmark order from Christchurch City Council of over 450,000 wheelie bins for a new 3-bin collection service commencing in early 2009.
Michael Huston, SULO’s managing director, said “this landmark agreement combines the strengths of two highly experienced plastic manufacturers. Together, we hope to become the industry leader in the provision of products and services that meet the waste and recycling needs of New Zealand. Talbot Plastics, an award winning custom injection moulder, was established in 1972 to provide manufacturing services to the local industry. Since this time Talbot Plastics have become an industry leader in the provision of high quality plastic components. The company is now located in Christchurch, New Zealand, operates over 29 injection moulding machines and employs more than 100 staff.
Talbot Plastics also have the ability, through a dedicated Class 2 Clean Room, to manufacture products for the food, healthcare and other specialised industries.
In addition to custom moulding Talbot Plastic also operate a modern in-house tool room that utilises leading edge design technology to offer a complete value added service to its customers.
